OGSA-DAI is a UK-wide project collaboration between
EPCC and
NeSC,
eScience North West at the
University of Manchester,
North East Regional eScience Centre
at the Univeristy of Newcastle,
IBM and Oracle.
These pages refer to the old project and are for historical record. You can learn more about the continuation of the project as a whole from the
OGSA-DAI website.
Funded under the eScience
Grid Core Programme, this project
will extend the new
Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA) as proposed
by the Globus Project
and IBM to incorporate crucial data access and
integration services and service support for e-Science.
OGSA-DAI is developing designs, demonstrators, prototypes and
ultimately reference implementations of OGSA data access and
integration services, along with crucial OGSA extensions to support
e-Science. The basic services developed by OGSA-DAI will be released
as part of the OGSA-based Globus Toolkit version 3.
The overall project is divided into six work packages, with
EPCC responsible for three of them:
- Programme Management: led by Oracle Corporation.
- Architectural Specification: led by
EPCC/NeSC.
- Grid XML and Semi-Structured Data Services: led
by EPCC.
- Distributed Query Processing: led by eSNW/NEReSC.
- Grid eScience Services and BinX: led by
EPCC.
- Grid RDBMS and Globus-2 Data Services: led by IBM UK.
